Nieves Barragán Mohacho’s guide to Shoreditch

Let’s start from the taberna at Legado. Legado is a restaurant, but then we have the taberna where we serve dishes from Northern and Southern Spain – pintxos and tapas – to eat with your hands. I start with a nice vermouth and pintxos from Navarra – we have one with champiñones and prawn.

I love Smoking Goat; I’ve been going there for years. A nice cold beer and chicken wings are my go-to order. Perfect!

I love to have a nice glass of wine here; sometimes they do a wine of the week. I’ll drink that with something from the specials. I also love the bread they do with anchovies and I’ll sometimes have the turbot, but often, I just go for the greens, maybe some oysters. 

I love the daikon bao here. Sometimes I can have three of them in one go! 

I like to sit at the bar and have a nice cocktail with the amazing chicken kebabs with devilled spice from the bar snacks menu. I love a tasting menu, but I like the interaction of going to different places to have something unique in each.
