Marco Pierre White

Marco Pierre White, dubbed the original rock star chef and enfant terrible of modern gastronomy, opened his first restaurant, Harveys, in London’s Wandsworth in 1987. It was a sensation, winning two Michelin stars. Later, Restaurant Marco Pierre White at the Hyde Park Hotel, also in London, won three when its Chef-Patron was just 33. Originally from Leeds, Pierre White trained under legendary figures the Roux brothers and Pierre Koffmann, and has trained top chefs like Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal and Phil Howard, while countless more have been inspired by his seminal book, White Heat. Today, he’s more likely to be found on TV, developing restaurant concepts or enjoying the great outdoors than in a restaurant kitchen.
