Heston Blumenthal

Heston Blumenthal is a cultural icon in the UK as well as a culinary alchemist. At his multi-award-winning Fat Duck restaurant in Bray, England, his multi-sensory brand of molecular gastronomy brought the science of food into the public consciousness and his unusual flavour combinations, outlandish table props and dining room theatre thrust him into the spotlight as one of the UK’s most recognisable chefs. London-born, he had his first taste of fine dining at 15-years old, when he visited France on a family holiday. In 1995, Blumenthal bought a run-down pub in Bray and quickly turned it into The Fat Duck. By 2004 it had gained three Michelin stars and a year later it was named the World’s Best Restaurant.
