Aisha Ibrahim

Aisha Ibrahim, one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in the US in 2023, was, until April 2025, Executive Chef at the historic restaurant Canlis in Seattle. Born in the Philippines, she grew up in West Virginia and dreamed of life as a basketball player before an injury led her to change tack and pursue a career in the culinary arts. She worked in kitchens in and around San Francisco as well as Spain, Thailand, Singapore and Japan, before returning to the US to take up the coveted position at Canlis. She is a champion of both sustainable processes and ethical behaviour in fine dining and is currently working on future projects.
